Apple pie - the traditional recipe

Plăcintă cu mere

Apple pie is the dessert of childhood for many people. This is a dish that is very simple to make and is quite cheap. Here's how you can enjoy the taste of this dish:

Ingredients needed:

For countertops

  • 500 g of flour;
  • 200 g soft butter/lard;
  • 100 g cream;
  • 1 or;
  • 150 g of sugar;
  • 2 vials of vanilla sugar;
  • 10 g of baking powder;
  • 1 pinch of salt;

For the filling

  • 1,5 kg apples;
  • 3 spoons of sugar;
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon;

Method of preparation:

We start with the filling, so that it has time to cool while we deal with the dough.

To make the apple pie filling, wash the apples, grate them. Temper them in a non-stick pan with 3-5 tablespoons of sugar. Add the cinnamon after 5 minutes. Stir occasionally and, when the juice evaporates, you can take it off the heat and let it cool.

Let's move on to the dough:

In a large bowl, rub the butter with the sugar. Add the vanilla essence and egg, then beat gently until creamy. Add the cream, mix until smooth.

Separately, to prepare the apple pie dough, combine the flour with salt and baking powder then add to the cream mixture above, mixing well with a wooden spoon. When the resulting dough hardens and cannot be mixed with a spoon, knead by hand.

When the apple pie dough is no longer sticky, divide it into 2 equal balls. Sprinkle flour on the table and spread one of the 2 balls with a rolling pin (enough to cover the tray in which you want to make the pie). Place the first sheet in the pan and place the filling on top.

Roll out a second ball of dough (exactly as you did with the first) and then cover the filling in the pan with it.

Put the pan in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until you notice that the dough is baked.

Remove from the oven and leave to cool slightly. Sprinkle powdered sugar on top of the pie, and the dish is ready.
