Ingredients with purpose: cherries 65%, sugar 30%, walnut 5%.
Method of preparation: The cherries and walnut kernels we break go into the cauldron on a wood fire. We boil them well with sugar, in our own juice until we get the sweetness that delights the taste of Romanians. Then we put the jam in ready-sterilized jars and send it to the city, to be used.
Vegan, fasting product.
Pasteurized product. Store in a dry and cool place, away from frost, heat and sunlight. After opening, store in the refrigerator and consume within a maximum of 7 days.
I like Romanian cherry jam with walnut, only good to spread on homemade bread. It is prepared with great care, in a cauldron on a wood fire, by the housewives of Idicel Pădure, who closely follow the traditional recipe.
